Since Alex's pathology showed the his tumors were per-cancerous (we got *really* lucky and caught it before they became cancerous) his post-op chemo has been really easy compared to the previous course. No significant drops in neutrophils, no fevers, no hospital stays!!!!!!! He has one more dose in a couple of weeks followed by 2 more weeks of blood count monitoring and lots of post-chemo testing. Our meeting is set for right after Labor Day to meet with his oncologist for the "this is where we go from here" meeting.
Alex had his 7 week post-op checkup today with an ultrasound beforehand. That was looking good. Both kidneys were receiving blood flow (there was some concern that the right one would have a spasm set up and it would die) and the hematoma (blood collection) that had been by his left kidney was decreased and just about gone.
Things are pretty well back to normal around here. Whew.
